April is recognized each year as World Autism Month, which begins on April 2 with the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Acceptance Day.
Golden Avenue Public School was honoured to host Timmins Mayor Michelle Boileau for a flag-raising ceremony and community walk on Tuesday, April 2. Mayor Boileau also proclaimed the day as Autism Acceptance Day.
Mayor Boileau shared a meaningful personal connection to Golden Avenue Public School. Her mother-in-law, Deborah Morrish, was instrumental in the creation of the program at the school.
